6-speed sports gearbox, 6th gear short — a genuine BMW part, number 23 00 7 654 071. The number stamped on the part is 23007654071; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7654071. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 7654074, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7677012.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 18 kg (40 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
