This is a genuine BMW adapter, part number 61 13 6 942 997. The number stamped on the part is 61136942997; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6942997. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Plug connection, terminal. It supersedes the older numbers 6909012 and 9404867, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 29 diagrams, among them Adapter for Trailer Socket (03_1092) and Trailer Hitch/Electr.Attaching Parts (71_0112). It weighs about 100 g (0.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
