Genuine BMW part 12 31 7 523 606: Alternator, water-cooled bottom. The number stamped on the part is 12317523606; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7523606. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Alternator with motor and mounting. It supersedes the older numbers 0413291 and 7507995, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7526286.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

It weighs about 9.8 kg (21 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
