18 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Bar left — a genuine BMW part, number 72 11 8 146 583. The number stamped on the part is 72118146583; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8146583. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Parts and accessories, body parts. It supersedes the older number 8146584, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 compact (318ti, 1995–1999), with the M42 or M44 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Safety Belt Adjuster (72_0201) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 241 g (0.5 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
