Genuine BMW part 12 14 1 429 523: Basic control unit DME. The number stamped on the part is 12141429523; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1429523. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1743733, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1743735.

It fits the E36 compact (316g, 1996), with the M43 engine.

BMW draws it on the Uncoded DME control unit (12_1979) diagram. It weighs about 525 g (1.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
