This is a genuine BMW blower unit, part number 17 40 1 362 096. The number stamped on the part is 17401362096; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1362096. You will find it on our Cooling System shelf, under Oil cooler / circuits. It supersedes the older number 1466179, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 16 diagrams, among them Electric additional fan (11_0603) and Electric additional fan (11_0627). It weighs about 3.5 kg (7.6 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
