The number stamped on the part is 54218187779; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8187779. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Sliding Roof / Folding Top parts. It supersedes the older number 0300237, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9157025.
It fits the E36 convertible (318i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1994–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50, M52 or S50 and other engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Trim panel, front (51_4548) and Door trim panel, front / up to 01/2009 (51_5013). BMW's catalog calls for eight of these at each place it is fitted.
