This is a genuine BMW bow, part number 72 11 8 222 464. The number stamped on the part is 72118222464; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8222464. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Parts and accessories, body parts. It supersedes the older numbers 0403405 and 8101400, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9117185.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (318i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M42, M44, M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (320i and 323i, 1999–2005), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Safety Belt Adjuster (72_0027) and Safety Belt Adjuster (72_0028). It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb).
