Genuine BMW part 24 11 1 217 129: Bracket. The number stamped on the part is 24111217129; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1217129. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearbox housing, oil sump. It supersedes the older number 1215484, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 24 diagrams, among them Zf 4hp22/24 Housing Parts/Oil Pan (24_0358) and Zf 4hp22/24 Housing Parts/Oil Pan (24_0359). BMW's catalog calls for five of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 9 g (under 0.1 lb).
