This is a genuine BMW bracket upper, part number 17 11 1 723 341. The number stamped on the part is 17111723341; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1723341. You will find it on our Cooling System shelf, under Radiator with mounting.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 9 diagrams, among them Fan shroud (17_0083) and Radiator/Expansion Tank/Frame (17_0090). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb).
