This is a genuine BMW brake band solenoid valve, part number 24 33 1 422 093. The number stamped on the part is 24331422093; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1422093. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1218905, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan (316i 1.9 and 318i, 1997–2001), with the M43 engine.
