Brake drum — a genuine BMW part, number 34 21 1 159 486. The number stamped on the part is 34211159486; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1159486. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Rear wheel brake. BMW has since replaced it with 6752366.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and compact (318i, 1992–1998), with the M40 or M43 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on the Drum Brake-Brake Drum/Wheel Brake Cyl (34_0086) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 4.6 kg (10 lb).
