Bulb silver — a genuine BMW part, number 63 21 7 165 496. The number stamped on the part is 63217165496; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7165496. You will find it on our Lighting shelf, under Rear lights. It supersedes the older number 6941060, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7160798.

It fits the E46 sedan and touring (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2005), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 9 diagrams, among them Front/Front Lateral Turn Indicator (63_0292) and Additional turn indicator lamp (63_0303). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted.
