Carrier, outside door handle, front left — a genuine BMW part, number 51 20 3 449 077. The number stamped on the part is 51203449077; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 3449077. It supersedes the older number 3508735, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Front Door Control/Door Lock (51_7756) diagram. It weighs about 350 g (0.8 lb).
