CD Changer — a genuine BMW part, number 65 12 6 986 081. The number stamped on the part is 65126986081; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6986081. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio, amplifier, CD player. It supersedes the older number 6956939, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9125240.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the CD player (03_1288) diagram. It weighs about 1.3 kg (2.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
