This is a genuine BMW clamp, part number 54 21 8 195 800. The number stamped on the part is 54218195800; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8195800. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Sliding Roof / Folding Top parts. It supersedes the older numbers 0390587 and 1928893, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7194187.

It fits the E36 convertible (318i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1994–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50, M52 or S50 and other engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 convertible (323i, 325i, 330i and M3, 2000–2006), with the M52, M54 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 27 diagrams, among them Hardtop Parts (54_0184) and Hardtop Parts (54_0258).
