The number stamped on the part is 18101439722; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1439722. You will find it on our Exhaust shelf, under Catalytic converter/front silencer. It supersedes the older numbers 1489465, 2245671 and 7528084, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7560777.
It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (320i, 325i and 330i, 2001–2006), with the M54 engine — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 14 diagrams, among them Exhaust Assy Without Catalyst (18_0047) and Exhaust Assy Without Catalyst (18_0048). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 580 g (1.3 lb).
