This is a genuine BMW clip nut, part number 31 10 6 866 023. The number stamped on the part is 31106866023; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6866023. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Front axle suspension. It supersedes the older number 6781469, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Frnt axle support, wishbone/tension strut (31_0824) and Frnt axle support, wishbone/tension strut (31_0863). It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
