Genuine BMW part 18 40 7 540 023: Collar screw. The number stamped on the part is 18407540023; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7540023. You will find it on our Exhaust shelf, under Other Exhaust system parts. It supersedes the older number 7509367, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2001–2004), with the N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.

BMW draws it on 91 diagrams, among them Catalytic converter/centre muffler (18_0452) and Centre muffler (18_0430). It weighs about 70 g (0.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
