This is a genuine BMW connection plug, part number 61 31 1 379 817. The number stamped on the part is 61311379817; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1379817. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Switch. BMW has since replaced it with 8366282.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 10 diagrams, among them Various Relays (61_0066) and Relay (61_0550). It weighs about 9 g (under 0.1 lb).
