This is a genuine BMW cover, part number 61 12 2 303 574. The number stamped on the part is 61122303574; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2303574. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Auxiliary cable. It supersedes the older number 1243662, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 10 diagrams, among them Ignition System (12_0763) and Retrofit kit, socket (61_0240). It weighs about 4 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kits Retrofit kit, socket (2300274) and Retrofit kit, socket (2300473) and 1 more.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
