Genuine BMW part 71 12 1 179 953: Crank. The number stamped on the part is 71121179953; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1179953. You will find it on our Tools shelf, under Other Equipment Parts parts. It supersedes the older number 1127032, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 34 diagrams, among them Trailer rear supports (03_3737) and Trailer rear supports (03_3739). It weighs about 400 g (0.9 lb). It also comes in BMW kits Set emergency wheel with tyre (0308889) and Compact spare-wheel system (2159859) and 4 more.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
