This is a genuine BMW cromium-plated birchwood handbrake lever, part number 34 41 2 425 869. The number stamped on the part is 34412425869; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2425869. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Parking brake. BMW has since replaced it with 2425868.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Individual handbrake lever w/wood handle (91_1398) diagram. It weighs about 837 g (1.8 lb).
