This is a genuine BMW diodei-relay w.notch lock, part number 12 63 1 711 266. The number stamped on the part is 12631711266; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1711266. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. BMW has since replaced it with 1729005.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42 or M50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Relay, NO contact, white (61_4501) diagram. It weighs about 32 g (under 0.1 lb).
