This is a genuine BMW disc carrier, part number 24 23 1 217 163. The number stamped on the part is 24231217163; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1217163. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1215388, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 30 diagrams, among them Zf 4hp22/24 Drive Clutch E (24_0412) and Zf 4hp22/24 Drive Clutch E (24_0413). It weighs about 88 g (0.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
