The number stamped on the part is 33137840562; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7840562. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Rear Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 1213711, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (M3, 1996–1999), with the S50 engine. It also fits the E46 coupe and convertible (M3, 2001–2006), with the S54 engine.
BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Drive Flange Suspension/Gasket (33_0473) and Differential-Drive/Output (33_1041). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 30 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
