Edge protection — a genuine BMW part, number 51 72 7 047 341. The number stamped on the part is 51727047341; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7047341. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older numbers 4304835, 7047343, 7047345 and 7047347, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits the E46 compact (316ti, 318td, 318ti, 320td and 325ti, 2001–2004), with the M47N, M54, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.

BMW draws it on the Mucket / trim, entrance (51_4325) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 1.3 kg (3.0 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
