This is a genuine BMW CD Changer (exchange unit), part number 65 12 6 977 770. The number stamped on the part is 65126977770; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6977770. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-CD Changer”. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio, amplifier, CD player. It supersedes the older number 6951948, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 6977771.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 2.2 kg (4.8 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
