Genuine BMW part 24 61 1 421 696: Control unit EGS programmed (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 24611421696; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1421696. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit EGS programmed”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1421451, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Control unit EGS, programmed (24_0961) diagram. It weighs about 462 g (1.0 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
