Genuine BMW part 24 61 1 421 645: EGS control unit (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 24611421645; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1421645. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-EGS control unit”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1219262, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and compact (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M42 engine.

BMW draws it on the Control unit EGS, programmed (24_0628) diagram. It weighs about 673 g (1.5 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
