This is a genuine BMW mass air flow sensor with CO poti (exchange unit), part number 13 62 7 547 980. The number stamped on the part is 13627547980; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7547980. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-Mass air flow sensor with CO poti”. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Sensor for control unit. It supersedes the older number 1734657, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42 or M43 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 10 diagrams, among them Volume air flow sensor (13_0290) and Volume air flow sensor (13_0307). It weighs about 1.1 kg (2.4 lb).
