This is a genuine BMW radio navigation control (exchange unit), part number 65 12 8 383 684. The number stamped on the part is 65128383684; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8383684. BMW's catalog calls it “Exch. radio navigation control”. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio, amplifier, CD player. BMW has since replaced it with 6903733.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 330i and M3, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.
