Genuine BMW part 64 11 8 378 466: Uncoded ctrl unit f autom.air cond. (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 64118378466; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8378466. BMW's catalog calls it “Exch Uncoded Ctrl Unit F Autom.Air Cond”. You will find it on our AC & Climate Control shelf, under Other Heater and Air Conditioning parts. It supersedes the older number 8361836, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (318i, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Actuator for automatic air condition (64_0668) and Automatic air conditioning control (64_0669). It weighs about 260 g (0.6 lb).
