This is a genuine BMW exchange radio BAVARIA C BUSINESS RDS, part number 65 12 8 357 038. The number stamped on the part is 65128357038; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8357038. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio, amplifier, CD player. It supersedes the older number 8351004, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 8360792.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i, 318ti, 320i, 325i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Radio Bavaria C business (65_1958) and Radio Bavaria C business (65_2139). It weighs about 1.6 kg (3.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
