This is a genuine BMW fillister head screw, part number 11 27 7 509 226. The number stamped on the part is 11277509226; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7509226. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Compensating shaft.
It fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2001–2003), with the N42 engine.
BMW draws it on the Oil pump and compensating shaft unit (11_3190) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for five of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 3 g (under 0.1 lb).
