This is a genuine BMW flange nut with washer, part number 26 11 7 574 872. The number stamped on the part is 26117574872; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7574872. You will find it on our Drivetrain & Axle shelf, under Other Drive Shaft parts. It supersedes the older number 1229629, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 coupe, convertible and compact (323i and M3, 1998–1999), with the M52 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 16 diagrams, among them Catalytic converter/front silencer (18_0366) and Drive Shaft-Cent.Bearing-Universal Joint (26_0105). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Set, mounting parts, bumper, front (2411732).
