Folding top module — a genuine BMW part, number 61 35 8 378 795. The number stamped on the part is 61358378795; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8378795. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Control units, modules. It supersedes the older numbers 8357679 and 8379540, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7158010.

It fits the E36 convertible (318i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1994–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50, M52 or S50 and other engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on the Body Control Units and Modules (61_4881) diagram. It weighs about 240 g (0.5 lb).
