This is a genuine BMW free wheel, part number 24 23 1 217 226. The number stamped on the part is 24231217226; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1217226. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1215337, 1215338, 1217164 and 1217165, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1219334.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 400 g (0.9 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
