Genuine BMW part 25 11 7 523 817: Gearshift knob, leather/6-speed. The number stamped on the part is 25117523817; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7523817. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearshift. It supersedes the older numbers 1221624 and 7547954, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them Retrofit, leather gearshift knob (03_0331) and Gearshift, mechanical transmission (25_0036). It weighs about 165 g (0.4 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
