Genuine BMW part 25 11 1 222 688: Gearshift rod joint. The number stamped on the part is 25111222688; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1222688. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearshift. It supersedes the older number 1222649, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7580281.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
