This is a genuine BMW guide sleeve 5TH and reverse gear, part number 23 21 1 282 581. The number stamped on the part is 23211282581; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1282581. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Transmission shafts. It supersedes the older number 1282449, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits every E46 body style (325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2006), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.
