The number stamped on the part is 31421238904; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1238904. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Telescopic fork, Telelever. It supersedes the older numbers 1236730 and 2000390, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Telescope-Fork-Fork Head Attach.P (31_0303) and Fork bridge, mounting parts (31_0312). It weighs about 130 g (0.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
