This is a genuine BMW heat resistant plate, part number 13 71 2 245 560. The number stamped on the part is 13712245560; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2245560. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Intake silencer.

It fits the E36 sedan, touring and compact (318tds and 325tds, 1994–1996), with the M41 or M51 engines.

BMW draws it on the Suction Silencer/Filter Cartridge (13_0378) diagram. It weighs about 300 g (0.7 lb).
