Hex nut — a genuine BMW part, number 07 11 9 904 023. The number stamped on the part is 07119904023; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9904023. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 11. It supersedes the older numbers 0150351, 0392524 and 9905278, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9905544.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 323i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i, 318ti and 320i, 2000–2004), with the M54, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.

BMW draws it on 188 diagrams, among them Emission Control-Air Pump (11_1324) and Cylinder head attached parts (11_1340).
