This is a genuine BMW hifi amplifier telephon-anti-interferer, part number 65 12 8 374 531. The number stamped on the part is 65128374531; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8374531. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio, amplifier, CD player. It supersedes the older number 8361783, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 8371022.

It fits the E36 sedan and coupe (318i, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Single Components HIFI System (65_0425) and Single Components HIFI System (65_0426). It weighs about 1.6 kg (3.4 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
