Hollow bolt — a genuine BMW part, number 32 41 6 783 887. The number stamped on the part is 32416783887; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6783887. You will find it on our Steering shelf, under Other Steering parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1094909 and 9917538, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 6852470.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 176 diagrams, among them Hydro Steering-Oil Pipes (32_0650) and Hydro Steering-Oil Pipes (32_0651). It weighs about 40 g (under 0.1 lb).
