The number stamped on the part is 13641726988; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1726988. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Fuel injectors, starting valves. It supersedes the older numbers 1726983 and 1730292, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1706176.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M42 engine.
