Interlock cable bracket — a genuine BMW part, number 32 31 1 160 323. The number stamped on the part is 32311160323; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1160323. You will find it on our Steering shelf, under Other Steering parts. It supersedes the older number 0141418, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 43 diagrams, among them Shift Interlock Automatic Transm. Japan (25_0243) and Shift Interlock Automatic Transm (25_0580).
