What's Included

Genuine BMW part 16 11 1 180 157: Leadfree fuel insert. The number stamped on the part is 16111180157; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1180157. You will find it on our Fuel System shelf, under Fuel tank with filler pipe. It supersedes the older number 1178997, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan and coupe (318i, 320i and 325i, 1992–1998), with the M40 or M50 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 29 diagrams, among them Plastic fuel tank (16_0314) and Metal Fuel Tank (16_0012). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Installing Set Catalyzer (1716468).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
