Leather handbrake lever cover — a genuine BMW part, number 34 40 2 498 836. The number stamped on the part is 34402498836; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2498836. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Parking brake / brake pads. It supersedes the older numbers 8190045, 8190046, 8190103, 8190104 and 1 other, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Handbrake lever (34_0539) and Handbrake lever with ring (34_1053). It weighs about 57 g (0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
